It’s been more than 2 years
Mental Health Day
2 years of adapting, 2 years of “zoom” shirts, 2 years of pivoting our usual schedules to maintain a work/life balance while being remote. Moving out of our offices and into alternative workspaces has meant we’ve stepped out of an environment of in-person interactions while still working on maintaining our relationships with colleagues, clients, and friends all over the world. While we have all done an incredible job at leaping into the new world, it’s been a lot to keep up with, and awareness of your well-being is more important than ever.
Today, we just wanted to check-in. How do you feel? Do you miss your colleagues? Do you think you feel better or worse? More stressed? More present in other areas of your life?
**LOTS of remote workers have cut their social interactions massively, and even if you’re an introvert, human connection is important to all of us. The energy and interactions we get while being around others plays a huge factor in our quality of life. **
Without knowing the impact the past few years will have on our mental health, it’s important to take a proactive role in caring for yourself. We’ve put together a few tried and true tips to get into a healthier, happier state of mind…
1. Start your day with a healthy meal. It seems obvious, but so many of us skip this one. You’ll be surprised at the impact a good breakfast can have on your day.
2. Take time out of your day for fresh air!
3. Connect with your colleagues, even just to say hello.
4. Respect your boundaries and ask for help, whether at work or at home.
If your company offers an option to return to the office part-time, consider it. If you don’t want to, at least go out and talk to people. Being at home 22 hours a day is a vicious cycle. It might be convenient, but in the long run, you’ll lose dramatically.
And by the way: Hi, how’s it going, bud? I hope you’re having a fantastic day!
