No one other than yourself is asking you to be perfect. Perfection is a perception.

Charles Horton Cooley, a 19th-century sociologist, left us with this remarkable quote: “I am not who you think I am; I am not who I think I am; I am who I think you think I am.”

According to the logic of this quote, in an attempt to be perfect, you are unconsciously trying to be what you think you are for someone. That is a huge mistake.

In my opinion, someone trying to be perfect is not someone who is being authentic. Of course, it can happen that someone’s authenticity is horrible. However, we can easily assume that on average, most of us are perfectly lovely human beings.

If you find something you don’t like within your personality, change it. If you find something you love in your personality, at all costs, keep it.

In the end, a charismatic personality happens when someone embraces who they are with confidence.
